Why Bette Midler was a no-show at her annual Hulaween gala

She ghosted her own Halloween party, but she had a good reason.

Bette Midler’s annual Hulaween Ball to benefit the New York Restoration Society was full of stars this year, except for Midler herself!

The “Beaches” star had to sit this year out because she was working, a source told Page Six.

Her absence didn’t stop A-listers including Dionne Warwick, singer Chloe, Myles Frost, Clive Davis, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos from dressing up and attending the spooky bash at swanky Casa Cipriani on Friday night.

Suave music mogul Davis arrived in a limo and was decked out in a floor-length black cape — a la “The Phantom of The Opera.” He was honored with Midler’s “Wind Beneath My Wings” award at the event.

We’re told Midler was in Georgia filming “The Fabulous Four in Savannah,” co-starring Megan Mullaly and Susan Sarandon. She recorded a five-minute video that included a special song she wrote for the occasion to thank Davis.

“Bette, thank you for that very special video,” Davis said. “I’ve been a big admirer, for years, of all the incredible work the NYRP has been doing, across the five boroughs. We are all indebted for the improvement of life because of [the] NYRP’s work,” he added.

Dionne Warwick serenaded Davis by singing her classics, including, “That’s What Friends Are For” and “What The World Needs Now Is Love.” Davis received a standing ovation that lasted over a minute when he encouraged the room to “fight back against anti-semitism” during his acceptance speech.

Jordan Roth, Nikki Haskell, CAA’s Bryan Lourd and his husband, Bruce Bozzi, were also on the scene.

Bozzi was also an honoree, and Broadway producer Roth presided over a spectacular costume contest, we hear.
