Charlie Sheen said he had a “knee-jerk reaction” to finding out that his eldest daughter Sami kickstarted a career as a sex worker.
The 19-year-old launched her adult business venture in June 2022 by joining OnlyFans — a subscription-based platform that allows creators to share nude or partially nude content at a premium price.
And while her mom, Denise Richards, was on board with Sami’s unconventional career move, the same can’t be said for her famous father.
“I had a knee-jerk reaction to it because of the reputation that preceded it,” the “Two and a Half Men” alum told Bustle. “I was just like, ‘Oh, this can only go bad.'”
Despite initially being taken aback, Charlie said he began to see things differently because it was his daughter.
“She’s doing this and it can only be a much more successful and pleasant experience with the support of myself, her mom, and others,” he explained.
“I have to have confidence and just know in my heart that all of her virtues and all the wonderfulness that makes her, her, come with her.”
He told the outlet that after Sami dropped out of high school and left her mother’s “hell house” to go live with him in September 2021, he was in the process of weaning off alcohol.
“What she had the benefit of, and I had the uber benefit of, was she was there towards the end of my drinking,” the actor, 58, said. “She got to see up close and personal that journey.”
Charlie made sure to note that while he’s “not a guy that preaches [or] that needs constant attention or support of what [he’s] doing,” he’s happy Sami “got to see the benefits of just how a life together in that domestic reality can improve so completely and stay that way.”
He added, “She got to see an inconsistent me become the most reliable person in her life. Of course, it wasn’t a plan. The universe had us together when it did, which is pretty amazing.”
In response to her daughter’s career move, Richards, 52, exclusively told Page Six at the time: “Sami is 18, and this decision wasn’t based on whose house she lives in. All I can do as a parent is guide her and trust her judgment, but she makes her own choices.”

Meanwhile, Charlie blamed his ex-wife for Sami’s choices, telling Page Six at the time, “She is 18 years old now and living with her mother. This did not occur under my roof.”
He added, “I do not condone this, but since I’m unable to prevent it, I urged her to keep it classy, creative and not sacrifice her integrity.”
Richards, however, said she couldn’t judge her daughter as she referenced her own role in “Wild Things” and past Playboy photo shoots. “Quite frankly her father shouldn’t be either,” she added.
Charlie and Richards — who were married from June 2002 to November 2006 — also share daughter Lola Sheen, 18.
