Britney Spears reveals ‘drug of choice’ from 2000s partying days

Britney Spears reveals in her new memoir that she turned to drugs to feel “less depressed” during her partying days.

The “Everytime” singer writes in “The Woman in Me,” which arrives on shelves on Oct. 24, that the ADHD medication Adderall was her “drug of choice” in the mid-2000s.

“It was never as wild as the press made it out to be,” Spears says of the era in which she was famously photographed alongside fellow party girls Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan (per the New York Times).

Although she had no interest in hard drugs and “never had a drinking problem,” the pop star admits to taking Adderall liberally.

“[It] made me high, yes, but what I found far more appealing was that it gave me a few hours of feeling less depressed,” she writes.

Last year, Britney claimed her mother, Lynne Spears, once slapped her “so hard” for staying out too late with Hilton and Lohan.

“The first time I ever got slapped was the one night Paris and Lindsay dropped me off at my beach house with my babies,” the “Gimme More” singer wrote in an October 2022 Instagram post that she quickly deleted.

“My mother was watching [my sons] Jayden and Preston…yes I partied till like 4am and my mother was PISSED !!!! I walked in, she looked at me and hit me so hard that I will never forget it !!!”

Lynne, 68, did not respond to the claim, though she did publicly apologize days prior for causing “pain” during Britney’s 13-year conservatorship.

“The Woman in Me” also addresses her relationship with Justin Timberlake.

Elsewhere in her explosive memoir, Britney confirms a long-standing rumor that her ex Justin Timberlake broke up with her via text message.

She writes that she was “devastated” and even thought about abandoning her career altogether after the *NSYNC member ended their three-year relationship in 2002.

“I was comatose in Louisiana, and he was happily running around Hollywood,” she recalls, noting that the media portrayed her as a “harlot who’d broken the heart of America’s golden boy.”

Britney also claims Timberlake, 42, had stepped out on her with a fellow celebrity, though she declined to name his famous paramour.

The former child stars began dating in early 1999, and Britney had a “surprise” pregnancy the following year.

However, she claims Timberlake “definitely wasn’t happy” about it and “was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.”

Britney eventually went through with an “agonizing” abortion in late 2000.

“He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young,” she remembers.

The pair were about 19 at the time.

“I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby. I don’t know if that was the right decision,” the “Toxic” singer adds. “If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it.”

Timberlake has yet to publicly address the claims from the tell-all.

The bombshell came just one day after sources told Page Six exclusively that the “Cry Me a River” crooner was “concerned” about what his ex-girlfriend would divulge in her memoir.

“He’s very curious,” one insider told us. “It’s eating at him.”
