Why Denise Richards is ‘trying to talk’ daughter Sami Sheen, 19, out of getting a boob job

Denise Richards is hoping her sage advice stemming from her own personal experience will dissuade her eldest daughter, 19-year-old Sami Sheen, from undergoing a breast augmentation.

“I was made fun of as a teenager [because my boobs] were mosquito bites. I got them done at the same age Sami is wanting to get them done,” Richards, 52, told Bustle as part of a lengthy interview published Tuesday, adding that she’s planning to get her implants removed.

“I’m trying to talk her out of it because, and the reason why I’m getting them out, is I didn’t know how toxic [they are] when I was 19,” the actress made sure to note.

“And it’s not an easy surgery. It’s painful!”

Though breast implant illness (BII) — a collective term for a range of symptoms attributed to gel bleed from silicone breast implants (SBI) — seems to be on the rise, Denise did not specify or elaborate on what she meant by “toxic.”

But as it stands, Sheen still has her eye on going under the knife and emerging with D cups.

“I was 10 years old and like, ‘I can’t wait to have big boobs like my mom,'” she told the outlet.

“All my friends were getting boobs, and I was just like, ‘OK, when’s it my turn?’ I would always stuff my bra with socks and stuff.”

The OnlyFans star reiterated that the biggest obstacle standing in the way of her dream chest is vaping, which she was told she must quit for at least one month in order to qualify for the procedure.

Sheen revealed to her TikTok followers in September that she had been “vaping for five years now.”

“I’ve been addicted to nicotine for five f–king years,” she said passionately in the selfie-style video, going on to say that although she’d “tried quitting multiple times,” the task had proven to be “really f–king hard.”

The model admitted that she had even bought a book about dropping the harmful habit but hadn’t started reading it yet “because I don’t wanna quit.”

“Like, realistically, I do wanna quit because I know I’m gonna be so much healthier and live longer because of it,” she acknowledged, “but I just don’t wanna deal with it. Like, I’ve just been putting it off.”

At the time, Sheen said she “had no choice” because her surgery was scheduled for November; she did not tell Bustle whether that was still the plan.

However, her father, Charlie Sheen, feels he may actually have a positive impact on her when it comes to curbing unhealthy behaviors.

He told the outlet that after Sami dropped out of high school and left her mother’s “hell house” to go live with him in September 2021 (a rebellious moment she said she regrets making public), he was in the process of weaning off alcohol.

“What she had the benefit of, and I had the uber benefit of, was she was there towards the end of my drinking,” the actor, 58, said.

“She got to see up close and personal that journey.”

Charlie made sure to note that while he’s “not a guy that preaches [or] that needs constant attention or support of what [he’s] doing,” he’s happy Sami “got to see the benefits of just how a life together in that domestic reality can improve so completely and stay that way.”

He added, “She got to see an inconsistent me become the most reliable person in her life. Of course, it wasn’t a plan. The universe had us together when it did, which is pretty amazing.”

Charlie and Richards — who were married from June 2002 to November 2006 — are also parents to daughter Lola Sheen, 18.
